GOOD GOING FRED

"You can fool some of the people some of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time."
...Abraham Lincoln

The saga continues.
One issue we Republicans always had over the Democrats was that we were much cleaner on fundraising. Chairman Fred Niemann's activities with the seven (ten?) PACs made sure that that went bye-bye. He handed the issue right to the Democrats on a golden platter.
The Democrats have moved in like a school of piranhas.
Yesterday's Asbury Park Press reported that Democrat Senator Ellen Karcher and Assemblyman Michael Panter have both gotten into the act and written to the Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC) requesting an investigation.
Fred, what did you think was going to happen?
The result of this whole fiasco is that no Republican in Monmouth County can use Democrat finances as an issue now with any credibility. And there still hasn't been an explanation as to the Committee for Sensible Growth, New Millenium Leadership and the Committee for Small Business Development, for which no ELEC reports have been found yet. Some Niemann supporters have attempted to throw blame around, speculating as to who may have leaked the PACs to the media, but the fact is that ELEC reports are public record, available online for anyone interested. The Press was apparently interested; they have been since 2003. Idiot. The Democrats could ride this straight to two freeholder seats and the surrogate this November.
Good going Fred.

Come on ABE. The press went with this because it was handed to them.
If they were in to doing work they would have discovered this a while ago. If they did the work do you know how many counties they could nail on this? Fred did not come up with this idea on his own . It was given to him by a fellow Chairman.
I am not defending these PACs but the people who blew the whistle on this are despicable.
In their desire for revenge on Fred they may take down the whole paerty.

yes, the problem are those people who reported wrongdoing. they are awful human beings.

with any luck, there aren't anymore of those around and corruption can happen in silence without anything like the hated press getting involved with their hated first amendment.

god knows that enough actual news anout this stuff and the public might get the idea that there are some rats in office and that might screw up the pecking order for november. crooks couldn't run...imagine that.

Nice picture of Niemann in The Courier.

we do flames well. our production chief got an award for the broschart cover from njpa: "best front page layout for a weekly over 4500."

it's sort of a trademark. we first did minervini that way and got awards from the naacp and congress. so, it's splashy and seems to work.

And which Chairman would that be, Teddy?

That is in fact if there are even actual whistleblowers here. TR refers to specific individuals here; he knows if he uses their names I will not post his comments.
The fact is that I don't believe anybody would even need to "blow the whistle" even if they wanted to. The APP has been looking for "dirt" on the County GOP for three years at least. Since John Bennett. My sources tell me the Press has been on this since the second half of January, or when the ELEC reports go online. It was known in Freehold that the Press was sniffing around this issue.
Why didn't they publish back then? Why indeed? It could be as simple as fitting it in editorially. Or, they could have deliberately waited. This would have lulled Fred, Dan and Josh into feeling that nothing would happen. It would also allow for more activity on the accounts. See, only $67,595. was in all seven accounts as of the last reporting cycle. While that may seem like a lot, it won't run much of a campaign; it won't even buy a decent house in this area. So, let the cycle run past, say, Lincoln Day. Now we're into March and the end of another reporting cycle. So after April 15, the new ELEC reports go online, and the Press will get to see what kind of money and from whom has gone in, as well as where it's going. Hence, another story.
So I don't believe anybody would have needed to hand the story to the Press.

It is for real. There is an actual movement in Howell to recall Joe DiBella. Whether it succeeds or not is a matter for the voters of Howell.

So Abe, what do you do when you pass 40k hits? Celebrate your status as a pioneer in "a small, subversive group"?

This is a example of what WHS been referring to on his blog. If Fred had worked with dedicated team players and built relationships, rather than destroy them, we would not be going down this wrong lane. What did he expect?

Mr Pucell, If I thought for one moment these people acted out of conviction I would applaud there courage.
i however, have no use for hypocits and backstabbers.

Honest Abe, which chairman would that be you ask.
Now what would be accomplished by bringing down a plague on some other Republican County Chairman?

Teddy Roosevelt said...

PS Honest Abe. We both know why you will not publish me if I print those names.

No problem there are other venues available.

Cicero- not our old Chairman, Chairman in other counties.

I think TR is referring to Ocean County's George Gilmore, a Niemann mentor.
