UPDATE ON THE 10 PACs.

The State Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC) has posted the first quarter reports for the world to see.
The vast editorial staff here at the Monmouth County Republican Blog all got together at lunch today and thought it would be a good idea to post an update on Chairman Niemann's PACs. You know, the ones that he doesn't know anything about. And then defended by calling people al-Qaeda.
Numbers are as of March 31.
Showing a zero balance were the Aberdeen and Holmdel Committees for Good Government. The municipal chairmen in both towns desired that the PACs be shut down.
$1,100.00 was transfered from Aberdeen and $7,200 from Holmdel, both their entire balances, to the Committee for Sensible Growth (Tom Apostle, chair; Glenn Hopler [naturally] treasurer.), which had not filed any report for the fourth quarter '05. Sensible Growth's balance as of 3/31 is $8,380.00.
The Neptune Committee for Good Government balance remains at $5,000.00; no receipts or disbursements for the first quarter.
The Union Beach Committee for Good Government showed a balance of $19,650.00, having raised $6,250.00. There were no disbursements.
Interlaken's PAC reported $8,509.09, having raised $8,000.00 and spent $2,738.11 (Only 865.33 of that was itemized.)
The Long Branch Committee for Good Government had $1,740.00 on hand; they raised $1,250.00 and spent 3,005.
Howell Committee for Good Government has $10,975.52 and had raised $2,100.00. They spent $16,824.48.
I have the disbursement information for Interlaken, Long Branch and Howell Committees for Good Government if anybody's interested.
No word yet on New Millenium Leadership and the Committee for Small Business Development.

Very interesting.

Any word on the Monmouth County Democratic DisOrganizations reports for 2005, or Lenny Izerillo's reports from 2003?

This dosen't make sense. How can Howell and Long Branch spend more than they raised?

Honest Abe said...

Rich, that's just what they raised 1/1/06 thru 3/31/06. They all had balances as of 12/31/05; Howell began with $25,700, and Long Branch with $3,495.00.

The County Dimocrats filed their report due 1/15 on 4/10; their current report was filed on 4/13.
Nothing on Lenny's '03 report, and nothing on Flynn-DaSaro's '05 report. Remember they said they would file an amended report reflecting that they paid Purcell the $2,100.00 due him that they reported as an in-kind.
I expect to do a post in the next day or so on the Dems' finances; for a taste there's $1,000.00 from the Union County Democrats, as well as funding from Middlesex, Essex, Passaic and Camden Democratic sources.

Please post the Howell report. I am sure there are many people who would be interested in seeing the activity. BTW, who is the chairperson on that one?

Thanks for clearing that up.

Let me know if you run across any pac activity in Hazlet.

Sue, I don't have my notes in front of me right now, but one thing they did pay was a bill for the Lakeside Manor up in Hazlet. Check back later and I'll have it all posted for you.

So far, nothing, Rich.

Anyone else think that the Republicans who actually live in Union Beach have no knowledge of "their" PAC?

Honest Abe said...

Here it is, Sue:

$5,200.00 to Retrieval Research Inc, 2/8/06.

$4,295.28 to Imperial Printing & Mail Service, 3/5/06?.

$6,461.25 to The Tenz Group (date illegible).

$868.00 to Lakeside Manor, 2/15/06.

Abe,

Refresh my memory. If a PAC spends money on behalf of a cadidate, isn't that candidate supposed to file their own forms with ELEC and report those in kind donations?

The Lakeside Manor sure looks like it was around the date of DiBella's "meet and greet" in the first round freeholder selection. Actually, most of the expenditures look suspiciously like they may have been in support of DiBella's freeholder bid.

Hmmm --- If that is the case, I wonder how the other candidates will feel about county money which has been squirreled away in various local PACs being used in support of one particular candidate.

I came to the same conclusion. I believe Joe does need to report the in-kinds. Remember he also had access to the GOP HQ e-mail list, which the others probably did not.
Those who did file with ELEC were Kleinberg, Little, Narozanick, Reilly and Wall. Nothing from Antonucci, McKenna, DiBella, DeSeno, Lucas or Toomey.

TRAZ. Ok. Hopler's handwriting leaves a lot to be desired.

Honest Abe said...

Union Beach Paul, you have the right idea. Shut it down!!! Stay after Hopler & Co. to make sure they follow through. Michael Borg in Aberdeen said on this blog that it took some time for them to follow through on his original demand that the Aberdeen PAC be shut down.
For your peace of mind, there were no disbursements from the Union Beach PAC from 1/1/06 thru 3/31/06.

My apologies! I forgot to answer one of your questions, that being "BTW, who is the chairperson on that one?"
It's Norine Kelly>

Abe,
A few questions, ------

Were there any other expenditures from any other PACS that looked like they were used for a freeholder bid in 2006?

What are the addresses on Retrieval Research and Imperial Printing on the report? Does the report list what the purpose of the expenditure was for?

Can you list the chairpersons of all the PACS?

Sorry for all the questions, but I cannot get the report to open from ELEC's site.

"Abe,

"Were there any other expenditures from any other PACS that looked like they were used for a freeholder bid in 2006?"

Interlaken:
$265.33 to Central Jersey Bank for Credit Card discounts and service charges.
$600.00 to Committee to Elect Pascucci & Bateman, Holmdel.
Long Branch:
$3,000.00 to Committee to Elect Pascucci & Bateman.

"What are the addresses on Retrieval Research and Imperial Printing on the report?" Hopler leaves that part blank. "Does the report list what the purpose of the expenditure was for? No, but he reports it on "Schedule D - Itemized Monetary Contributions Made to Candidates and Committees"; he lists the election as Monmouth County, but no election date.

"Can you list the chairpersons of all the PACS?" Yes.
Aberdeen (defunct): Michael Borg.
Holmdel (defunct): Alan Bateman.
Howell: Norine Kelly.
Interlaken: Hunt Parry.
Long Branch: Anthony "Gio" Giordano.
Neptune Twp.: Don Beekman
Union Beach: Paul Smith.
Committee for Sensible Growth: Tom Apostle.

"Sorry for all the questions, but I cannot get the report to open from ELEC's site."
ELEC is not a very user-friendly site.
