De SENO IS IN THE RACE

Thomas De Seno, an attorney practicing in Asbury Park and a resident of the Ramtown section of Howell Township, has notified Chairman Niemann and Republican Committee members of his intention to run for Freeholder. His letter emphasizes as his strongest qualification:

"As a Republican, are you tired of the treatment our Party receives from the Asbury Park Press? Since Gannett purchased the paper and appointed two Camden County men to run it, they have attacked Republicans. They pick a different Republican each year to attack incessantly. Coincidently [?], Camden County money has flowed into Monmouth Democrat coffers ever since. Republicans have made Monmouth the best run county for two decades, yet the Asbury Park Press writes about Republican leadership as a problem. They want us out of power, and this year showed their left-wing radicalism by endorsing a Green Party candidate for Freeholder.
"For four years I have written a weekly column in the triCity News called "Justified Right" in which I defend your conservative and Republican ideals, as well as slap the Asbury Park Press every time they're unfair to us. I have a proven record of standing up to them and will do so as your Freeholder, as I, like you, am proudly Republican. Let's push back!"

The Tri-City News is run and owned by Asbury Democrat Chair Dan Jacobson. It repeatedly attacks Monmouth Republicans and was the main booster of Unger's campaign. It printed endless venom and profanity about various county Republicans over the last year with NO defense from any of its staff members. DeSeno should leave the paper or start correcting its democrat chair before he expects anybody to take him as a serious Republican candidate.

His law office is in the same building as the address listed for the paper, too.

"DeSENO IS IN RACE". What's a DeSeno? Never heard of him.

DeSeno should have reached out to the municipal chairman, its the municipal organizations that they put together that are going to work for him, before he went directly to the committee members.

Most of the other candidtates tried to contact as many of the local chairmen as they could, ala Peters, DiMaso, Toomey.

Some of these other candidates have not.

Strike one for DeSeno

DeSarno has to be kidding. He goes after the APP and works for one of their hired gun papers. Is he for real or a plant?

If I may, it is no secret that this "Camden County link" does not exist. In fact, as a former Republican (who knew a lot) and now a Democrat (who knows a little more than a lot), all I have to say is that Camden County is relatively useless insofar as campaigning. Smoke screen or sheer ignorance: no idea and could care less.

Democrats, especially people like Dan Jacobson, do not "hit" people because of party affiliation.... that is a Republican pehnomenon. Danny and I have had our differences ... but he's a lot more straight about news than most people I've met. He's a damn fine publisher, in my opinion.

The whole "Republicans believing that Democrats have shady funding" theory has as much credence to it as the "Mikey eating Poprocks and dying" mythology. Sheer hogwash.

Democrats in Monmouth are starved of money where they can win and are only given money in unsalvagable races, e.g. Kean and Cordemus's 11th Distrct versus Reilly and what's his name (who the hell were these people?). Perhaps this is because 13th District Senator Joe Kyrillos is known legislatively for being little more than former Middlesex Sen. John Lynch's "errand boy" in Trenton (according to a North Hersey Senator who has known both Lynch and Kyrillos for years). Errand boys get $100K for a school district after "years of work" while the parking authority commissioners of Hudson County get millions back for unannounced lunch visits to Trenton, no lie.

Wake up and smell the coffee, Monmouth, you're being led down a primrose path by a Middletown loser who can't get it done in Trenton.

As for Seward...yeah, the problem is more than "Little." Read about it first in The Courier.

Purcell always on the job is again showing who pays his salary. Democrat Jacobson was the biggest booster of Purcell's boss trying to throw the election to the dem's in November. And what cash starved dems is Purcell talking about? They threw at least 3 million that we can see into Monmouth races last year. Starve us poor Republicans.
