MONDAY RANDOMNESS

Those of you who logged on this morning may have noticed something new on my sideboard. We have added a category for links to candidates' websites.
Now the Monmouth County Republican Blog has become your one-stop location for campaign information!
You will find links to the websites of Republican Campaigns. There is a link to Tom Kean's Senatorial Campaign. All the Monmouth County House races are represented: Chris Smith in the 4th District, Leigh-Ann Bellew in the 6th District and Joe Sinagra in the 12th District. (Chris' website is currently being updated.) Freeholder Anna Little's campaign website is also here. Right now we don't have any websites for Rosemarie Peters and Andrew Lucas. If anyone has that info let us know and we'll update. There is a website for Peters, Lucas and Little, but I understand the candidates are unhappy with it; if that's resolved we'll add that too.
*********
DEMS' ADVERTISING BILL PAID. FINALLY.
Readers of this blog will remember a report of $2,100.00 listed as an in-kind donation from Courier to the losing 13th Assembly campaign of William Flynn and Michael DaSaro. The following day, Jim Purcell, Courier's publisher, posted a comment that his paper makes no in-kind contributions to any campaign, and that he will make sure that the campaign paid its bills.
Well, Flynn & DaSaro finally got their ELEC reports in on May 2, and it would appear that Purcell's been paid. There are two reports filed the same day. One was an amendment to the previous report; the $2,100.00 was changed from an in-kind to an outstanding debt. The second report picked up where the first left off, and listed the payment of $1,131.40 on January 6 to Bayshore Press t/a Courier; another payment of $1,000.00 was made on March 31. So I guess that clears that up.
Flynn & DaSaro also did have to refund an excessive contribution in the amount of $654.95. This was from the Central Jersey Democratic Leadership Council (CJDLC), which is led by Union County's oompaloompaesque, goose-stepping, black helicopter theorizing, ad overcharging publisher James J. Devine, infamous for his now-defunct Handlin-Thompson.org weBSite, where he asserted, "It is hard to imagine that the best explanation for this is that Handlin got special treatment from Asbury Park Press editor Skip Hidlay because she is Jewish, but that is the most solid theory I have heard."
NO INZERILLO ELEC REPORT
Speaking of Jim Devine, back in February we reported that Lenny Inzerillo was seeking the Democratic nomination for freeholder, and that he had some "housekeeping" left over from his losing 2003 13th District Assembly campaign, noting an anomaly in his campaign reporting.
Inzerillo's treasurer was James Devine.
As treasurer of the Election Fund of Flynn, Inzerillo and Perry, Devine filed the 29-day and 11-day pre-election reports, but no 20-day post-election report. Why? Well, the 11-day pre-election report shows that Devine closed out the Election Fund of Flynn, Inzerillo and Perry on October 13 (nearly a month before the election) by writing out a check in the amount of $2,473.47 to the Election Fund of Inzerillo and Perry. We reported that ELEC has no record of the Election Fund of Inzerillo and Perry.
Mr Devine posted a response:
"I don't have anything to say about Lenny Inzerillo, but the joint campaign account for which I was treasurer closed out without raising much money. The lack of any report could be due to the fact that none was required, because you don't need to file anything except a notice if you spend less than a certain amount on your campaign."
Well, Jim, there was no "notice" filed or anything else. Nuthinn... In fairness, maybe Devine wasn't the treasurer of the second account and doesn't know.
Somebody knows. Guaranteed.
Fast forward to today, and like Spanish dictator Francisco Franco is still dead, Lenny Inzerillo's ELEC Reports are still unfiled.
So if Lenny is really interested in running for freeholder, he should get on the horn and find out what happened to that account. No reports means there's no way of knowing what was raised, from where, and where it was spent. I really doubt it was just shut down, nearly a month before election.
As the candidate, Lenny, you're responsible; you and your erstwhile running-mate, Aberdeen Township Committeeman Tom Perry. So call him if you need to, whatever. Call ELEC for information if you have to. (609) 292-8700.
I suggest you do yourself a favor and straighten this out because this isn't going away.

That's what I heard too. So I don't know just where that website is going right now.

brian nelson? i thought he wasn't working the freeholder campaign?

There's only one problem child in Monmouth County. He fancies himself a pugilist, but he has a glass jaw. He especially hates it when people fight back. He usually screams and carries on. He operates on the fringes. I think middletownrep knows him well. Really, really well.

Honest Abe said...

And here endeth the references to "problem children."

JIM_PURCELL said...

I think Len and Perry weren't at the helm of this problem. But, as candidates, they buy the bullet for whoever did. It doesn't matter who the campaign staff was....their name isn't on the bottom line. If there's a problem in a campaign, the buck stops with the guys whose names are on the signs. It has to be that way or it becomes an excuse-fest.

Whoa, time out. Generalisimo Francisco Franco is still dead????!!!!

elephants: i'm making a point...and you're doing...what? i couldn't tell. being witty now and again is fun. but you're all about being negative to people all the time. frankly, that's a personal issue and i wish you a lot of luck with it.

Yes, and Fred is still chairman for a couple of weeks. Be on the look out for shenanigans. Let's not forget what happened with Anna Little's and Andrew Lucas's petitions after the convention. Don't let your guard down.

Donkey Jim,

Thank you for kind wishes. Hug it out. C'mon, hug it out. C'mon....

Oh by the way, when I used to read the circular - I mean "carrier" for which you scribe, I recall more than a few negative articles from "da publishah." Of course, you have the bully pulpit there, as the Cap'n buys ink by the barrell. This, on the other hand, is a free and democratic blog. Chalk one up for the little guy!

Now, seriously, hug it out....

JIM_PURCELL said...

well, since "airbather" and "donkeys" had a say, i think it's only fair about mine. they went outside the lines some, i think i'll do the same.

first off, you have a lot of derision going on and you lack an argument. we're talking about campaign finance. you're trying to sound like the argument is about making jokes about me. is that your campaign finance argument? the jokes?

i'm identified, and you're not. this is the status quo not because you're in a position abe or will is in, and you're not because you so fervently suck up to the powers that be in the party. i'm surprised you're not identified, all that good bootlicking going to waste?

you comment out of reflex..."republican good...democrat bad." moronic would be a compliment. hey, if you have something to say to me, i'm at work 9-5 during the week. i don't need to hide and you do. that doesn't tell me a lot about the courage of your conviction or anything about your character. i wouldn't be surprised if donkeys was a broken down lawyer who is in the party only because he or she couldn't find work any other way. there's a lot of that going on. if you can't compete in the real world, just become a bootlicker. it's done every day. and, to hell with anything that's right under that circumstance...yep, i got your act pal. if i'm wrong, it's probably because you're a broken down engineer or a broken down insurance professional. whatever.

Donkey Jim said: "well, since "airbather" and "donkeys" had a say, i think it's only fair about mine."

OK, I have no idea what that means. But thats fine, Jim isn't a professional writer. Is he....?

Jim, my Francisco Franco comment, to which you apparantly took offense, was a response to the "Monday Randomness" blog posted by our host. I was responding to him, but since you apparantly didn't make the connection, you assumed I was "being negative" to you. Silly Donkey!

As for the rest of your ad hominum attacks against me, I'll just laugh and assume that I am getting under your skin.

I'm a proud Republican, sir. I will defend my Republican brothers and sisters unless they have done the indefensible. And then, I will huddle with my party, regroup, and continue the battle. I am no afraid of being labeled a partisan; it is something I am proud of. The fact that this is called the Monmouth County REPUBLICAN blog ought to indicate where OUR alliances lie, which is clearly different from where YOUR alliances lie.

In fact, I cannot understand why anyone would find value in your boorish, overbearing opinions. You are a (former) Union Beach Democratic Chairman who has bashed good Republicans while defending the likes of Merla, Stominski and Wall. Of course you want those three in power positions - it would be great for YOUR party, Jim.

Admit your motives, Donkey J!

JIM_PURCELL said...

my motives have remained clear since Day 1. Yours are mercenary and that is also clear. Want a paycheck? Work for it like real taxpayers everyday.

The problem with politics is the way it attracts some "proffessionals of ill repute" like yourself, sir.

Want to hear it in person? Give me a call. No spine for that I suppose. No, you prefer the anonymity of the boards, because that is what you are.

Anything that requires character is something you're "above" I suppose. Or is it because you simply lack any courage of conviction, which is why you slink around politics as you so, madam or mister counselor.

Honest Abe said...

Let's move on, boys. There's plenty of other stuff to talk about.
JP, wasn't it nice that Flynn & DaSaro paid your bill?
E not D, do you know whether Peters or Lucas have websites? For that matter, do you know whether any local GOP groups have websites that I haven't linked yet?
Or, maybe you guys would like to comment on my new post?

Abe,

Sadly, I do not have answers to your queries in re: websites. I was, you see, too busy "slinking around politics" to have noticed. My most sincere and heartfelt apologies.

Now, repeat after me, "Airbathing good; power washing bad. Airbathing good; power washing bad...."
